Cogress appoints Nicole Bremner as independent director

Cogress has appointed East Eight founder Nicole Bremner (pictured above) as an independent director.

Nicole will take a seat on the non-executive board, advising the alternative finance company on the Innovative Finance Isa it will soon be launching.

She has previously held consulting and analyst positions at Schroders, AXA and Goldman Sachs.

Nicole currently runs property development companies East Eight and London Central Developments.

Nicole said: "As a developer, I understand the challenges of securing development financing — particularly in the current climate — and I am proud to be joining the advisory team [at] Cogress, a lender built for SME developers, by SME developers.

"I'm excited to get back to my roots in financial services, developing and launching an exciting new suite of products for property investors that will increase the development finance products available to developers."

Cogress has also moved Daniel Levene from the role of head of analysis to head of structured finance.

He will oversee the origination and market analysis teams and lead the lending side of the business as the platform prepares for its next stage of growth.

“Cogress is moving into [its] fifth year of operating, and we’re excited to be in a position to increase our lending products, deploy more property development financing and expand our investor community,” said Tal Orly, CEO at Cogress.

“The team we have built has been instrumental in our growth to date, and there is no one better placed than Daniel to head up the lending side of our business as we move out of [the] start-up phase.

“We are also delighted to welcome on board Nicole, whose experience in both property development and financial services makes her the perfect fit for our non-exec team.”

So far, Cogress has committed £175m across 55 UK developments, while it has £60m to deploy on mixed-use and residential developments in 2019.
